BUDAPEST: Work

BUDAPEST MUSEUM OF ETNOGRAPHY

The cone shapes define the different sections of the museum, both permanent and temporary exhibitions. The circulation goes along a winding pathway at a slope which alternates between interior and exterior. The cones are shaped in insitu concrete with perforation scattered in certain places in the walls to filter in light and the circulation pathways have walls made out of steel truss glass frames with varying translucent glass panels. The rood consists of panels that provides shading from direct sunlight. Daylight is provided by north facing windows and reflected indirect light is used in exhibition space.

This project was used as a proposal for a competition that CRAB studio got invited to for the museum of ethnography in Budapest in 2014.

Participants: Sir Peter Cook, Gavin Robotham, Yang You, Emelie Peterson, Elin Schnipper, Irene Victoria, Michael Buggeli and Reem Nazir.
